First Draft

Standard

If it wasn’t already exciting enough for me to know that DAVID GOLDON’s first fiction, ENGLE BYEN: A Place To Call Home is being released next month … I have just read through the first draft of his follow up book THE ROAD TO ENGLE BYEN.

In the second book in the Engle Byen series we are treated to the prequel to the first story.  Most of my questions about the first book are answered and a bunch of new questions are brought up as well as some amazing new characters.

It may only be a ‘first draft’ but there were only a minimal number of things that needed to be reviewed.

I loved it and can’t wait to read the third book he is now writing.

SYNCHRONICITY can still happen even when you feel physically out of synch…

Yesterday, I had the sudden thought to pick up my phone and send my partner an SMS at 9:26am:

“R U a NO for exercise tonight?”

He replied at 9:28am (unusual because he normally does not answer his phone at work):

“OMG!  I literally thought to just pick up my phone to let you know about that …  No, I will give it a miss until I regain my strength.  I was about to suggest you should Give it a miss as well…”

I replied:

“Yes, I will … but at least the synchronicity still works … the rest is a real struggle today …  😦 ”

The magic of the universe!

The Good Doctor

Standard

Freddie Highmore was excellent in BATES MOTEL as the young Norman Bates.  Now that brilliant series is over, he is back in his own new show called THE GOOD DOCTOR.  In this show he is astounding!

He is a young surgeon doing his residency but his life and relationships are complicated by his severe Autism Spectrum Disorder.  The show has drama, humour, charm and empathy.

A winner!

NOV 2017:  Episode 7 where he encounteres a young patient with Autism is exceptional.  I learned so much about a disorder which, to those living with it, see it as normal.

FINAL EDIT: Engle Byen Book 1

Standard

Just finished the final edit and proofing of DAVID GOLDON’S first book … ENGLE BYEN: A PLACE TO CALL HOME.

No matter how many times I have worked through various sections separately, or read through the entire story from start to finish, this last full read through still managed to reduce me to tears at the end.  David is a great writer, this is a wonderful story.  I really want to see this as a movie or on TV … desperately.

SULLY

Standard

We know the basic story from the news back in 2009 but this is the real people and the drama that made an experienced but humble pilot into an international hero.  With Tom Hanks in the lead role and Clint Eastwood directing it was bound to be a quality movie.  More than that, SULLY is an engaging and tense drama that made me angry at the ‘establishment’ for trying to ‘blame’ him for actually saving everyone’s life and doing what was previously impossible.
